My mission is to revolutionize the ways we think about and experience education and personal development
Porter has been obsessed with the question “How do we learn and grow across the lifespan?” for the past 15 years. For well over a decade, he has combined his passions for psychology, education, and facilitation, teachings hundreds of students aged 5-70 in schools and out of schools, and spent years designing, directing, and facilitating rites of passage programs to support youth and their families in making healthy transitions. For the last five years he has worked across the U.S. on the cutting edge of social and emotional learning is public schools and youth programs, consulting major urban school districts and state governments and training hundreds of teachers and youth workers across the country. Porter is currently pursuing his graduate degree in counseling psychology at NYU as a way to bring more impact to his work and to sustain community transformation, while running a reduced-rate counseling practice and pioneering contemporary rites of passage programs for teens and adults.In his free time, he travels the world, makes music, hangs out with cats,, and spends time with community. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
